To him, photography is a means of savoring and pondering the fleeting moments of beauty which he may never witness again. He is a familiar figure on the beaches and in the marshes of Cape Cod, even on the coldest days, waiting patiently for the clouds to open in just that special way, for the sun to glint through that particular hole in the ice or clouds. Many photographers and painters have a "gifted eye" with which they focus obsessively on a single aspect of their environment, see it in the color scheme which transmits a particular emotional impact. Many photographers use cropping, printing, and smart software to adjust the frames (and the content) of the shot they seek. Alexander uses his camera, as if it were an extension of his eye, brain, and heart. Handsome prints from Alexander may be obtained from us in three formats-- 8" by 10" print -only, or matted print 11" x14", or framed in a simple black satin metal frame with glass, 11" x 14". Print-only takes about a week; matting or framing will add about 5 days.
