Randall is, like Ingraham and Chulyk, an artist who transforms utilitarian/ industrial discards into another image entirely, allowing the feel, weight, color and shape of the old objects in her hands to suggest new uses, new roles. The figures on this page (and on the "shopping cart") are made of mixed metals-- hand-forged objects, old tools, wire, and bits and pieces of other metal objects. The dancing females and warriors wear fragments of jewelry, copper capes, headbands of metal leaves, necklaces of fish, anklets and halos which are now-- removed as they are from their oiriginal uses-- identifiable only in the context of these pieces. Randall states: "Welded and iron sculpture has been my passion... Graphic experience guides the placement, while my imagination runs wild." But not completely wild. The figures have meaning for our lives. Fido brings us the paper; the sisters are attached but still, perhaps, wrangle; the significant other we love turns into the warrior who is perhaps returning from the latest corporate battle; and of course there are WILD WOMEN, rising anew.
